New Yorker Style Cartoon Caption Contest

Even though I did license a New Yorker cartoon, I thought I would try my own version of their cartoon caption contest. Please submit a caption for this cartoon by leaving a comment. Here is my first stab: “HR, time to send up that new Associate.”

  1. “Mr. Smith is busy lamenting the life he might have lived — can he call you back after lunch?”

  2. “I am sorry, sir, Mr. Smith left explicit instructions not to be bothered while he is practicing his planking. [pause] Google it, sir.”

  3. Many apologies, ma’am. Mr. Smith just completed his review of the new US Patent Act and has stepped out. [sigh] He should return shortly.

  4. You want a “Heads of Agreement”? Sure, I think I have a model lying around.

  5. “Yeah, the first coroner said he was but we are appealing…”

  6. “Do you remember when I said Smith was deadweight?”

  7. “Mr. Smith just headed out.”

  8. “Ms. Smith is interviewing another paralegal, and this guy’s lasted the longest.”

  9. I still need that sign guy for the door – I called over 3 hours ago, the carpet people haven’t been in to sort out the blood stains, and get the cleaner to bring some air-freshener it stinks in there, and chase HR again to send a temp along, oh yes if you get time can you call Mrs Smith -tell her to arrange to pick up her husband, he’s dead.
